Citypharma in Paris is legendary for having the widest array of beauty products at the lowest prices. It’s located at 26 Rue du Four in the 6ème arrondissement of Paris, often referred to as Saint-Germain-Des-Prés. It’s one of my must-stops whenever I’m in Paris. I stock up on products that I love.
Understanding that not everyone can afford a trip to Paris, I’m also including links to these products available online.
This is a multi-purpose hair, face, and body oil that’s lightly scented. I’m very sensitive to perfume and the light floral scent doesn’t irritate me. I use it on my skin in the dry winter months and love the non-greasy feeling.
This is a new-to-me product that my friend Meredith recommended. It’s a spray sunscreen that goes on silky smooth. I can tell why it’s a cult favorite.
One of the French pharmacists recommended the Orlane B21 line of products and I picked up: Absolute Youth Cream (luxurious, creamy feel), Youth Reset Serum (not too sticky or drying), Youth Eye Contour Cream (silky and smoothing), and Neck and Decollete Lifting Care (for use on your neck and collarbones).
Curious if you’ve ever been in a French pharamcy and tried their legendary products. Let me know!
What I’m Reading
You don't want to miss The Pairing, a deliciously horny book by Casey McQuiston, the author of Red, White and Royal Blue. Two bisexual exes accidentally book the same European food and wine vacation and have to spend three weeks together after avoiding each other for four years. To prove to each other just how OVER they are about their past relationship, they challenge each other to an international hookup competition. But things with Theo and Kit have never been over. Not when they were childhood best friends. Not when they became lovers in their twenties. And certainly not when they try to one-up each other in European ports of call.
Casey's amazing voice makes this book a thrilling romp through Europe as Kit and Theo, eat, drink, and f*ck their way through every city. But the emotional connection between Theo and Kit is the tender heart of this story. Have they grown enough to try to be together again?
What I’m Eating
I’m obsessed with Trader Joe’s pre-made pizza dough, which makes having fresh pizza a cinch. The biggest piece of advice I have is to make sure that you let it rest on your counter for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Here are two recipes I recommend:
Pepperoni slab pizza
Preheat the oven to 425°F, brush the crust with oil, spread sauce, top with cheese and pepperoni, and bake until golden brown and crisp. Usually 12-15 minutes.
Cast-iron skillet pizza
Press the dough into a cast-iron skillet coated with olive oil, top with mozzarella and cooked sausage, and bake until golden brown.
The Pairing sounds like a perfect post-Europe read for you! Is it one of the dozens of books I own but haven't yet read? Yes Gina, yes it is....
Team Avene Silky Mist forever!
